James Balog Lecture Statement
During his lecture Balog told about how he was planning on going into Geology, but decided that he didn't want to crunch numbers, he wanted to be out in nature. So he decided to become a photographer for National Geographic. He also discussed the importance of communications and how art grows out of the fabric of the moment. One thing he said that I really liked was "All you can do is put your heart into it and use the tools you've been given." Sometimes I feel like designers rely too much on their tools and not enough on their heart. Overall I thought Balog made some good points about what it is like to work in the real world as an artist.
